As the end of the year approaches I will try to post some of our recent work. It seems easier to make furniture than post about them but I will try to update on a number of projects. This is a King size Pencil Post bed in cherry. Typically I have not made the bed with a footboard. Usually I just have the wood rail across the foot but I really like the smaller footboard as a compliment to the wide headboard. It is all held together with bed bolts for easy transport and assembly.

This client wanted to display a collection of Navajo pottery and artifacts. First we made a display cabinet. We took the design of the Greene & Greene Bookcase and added glass sides and glass shelves and then added lights inside the cabinet. It is made in Cherry with ebony accents. It is 78” high x 42”wide x 18” deep. Item GGDIS

This client had a local logger take down some Maple trees on her property. Once the lumber was milled and dried, I turned it into a nine foot long Shaker Trestle Table. We let the character of the wood help embellish the table, including the tap hole where the tree was tapped for maple sugaring

This Custom Oak Desk was designed by my clients’ architect in South Carolina. It is made of Quartersawn White Oak with a couple of contrasting stains and some heavy shaping and distressing. It also features a leather top for the writing surface. It was a lot of fun doing the leather top as shown in the pictures. It was built in several sections and I drove down to deliver it myself.

Tags: Moveable walls, Rolling partitions
These moveable wall partitions were made for The Tutorial Center in Manchester, VT as a means of breaking up a very large room into cubicles which can vary in size. We made them three, four, five and six feet long. It was fun to develop the design which needed to be compact but sturdy. They really help make the room versatile.

Last year I made several Cherry Display Cabinets for the pro shop at The Dorset Field Club. This year I made a computer stand to go with the cabinets.
